Oren V
Guitar (Electric/Acoustic) and Music Theory
Oren V is a freelance guitarist and composer based in North London.
Oren's obsession with music grew out of a love for guitarists Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, and Eric Clapton. He developed his playing by performing at live venues and open mic sessions from the age of 14. His exposure to live music has given his rock, funk, blues, and soul playing a natural style focused on tone, subtlety, time, and space.
Throughout his career, Oren has fostered connections with the blues community, such as Samuel Ashton and The Voice finalist Hannah Williams, and regularly features in significant festivals like Broadstairs Blues Bash, Herne Bay Rocks, and City Sound Project.
At the University of Southampton, he obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in guitar performance and composition. Throughout his studies, Oren expanded into neo-soul, gospel, and jazz, becoming a versatile session player, arranger, bandleader, and improviser.
For his master’s in composition, Oren focused on creating music that integrates sound design with guitar sounds and orchestral textures. His work is described as a mixture of blues-rock, cinematic, electronic, and minimalistic soundscapes. The success of his projects has led to achieving a distinction for his masters, as well as professional collaborations with Green-Shepherd Saxophone duo, Plus-minus ensemble, and London Southbank University.
Oren teaches the guitar from beginner to diploma level, as well as music composition, music theory, and GCSE/A-level.
